Apprentice Teacher Program

The dedicated students at the Alaska Flute Studies Center often find that as they develop their skill as musicians, they also develop an interest in teaching. Our Apprentice Teachers are first and foremost dedicated music students who are serious about their practicing, performing and have plans to continue their music studies at the collegiate level. Then, the students receive special training in flute pedagogy to build their skills as teachers. They compile comprehensive lesson plans, develop repertoire resources and learn how to organize their own studio. All apprentice teachers are under the direct supervision of Barbara Eberhart.
