Northwind Flute Choir

The Northwind Flute Choir is part of the Alaska Flute Studies Center (a member of the non-profit Turnagain Community Arts Alliance). Northwind Flute Choir is for adult, flute enthusiasts who are looking for an exclusive ensemble with which to play. There are no auditions required. The sessions include rehearsals of flute choir repertoire and instruction on fundamentals of performance. The program is designed for flutists who are looking to play intermediate to advanced flute ensemble music in a relaxed environment.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are at the home of Laura Koenig. Address and directions will be provided when we receive your registration.

Fall Session 2011:
Oct. 3, Oct. 17, Nov. 7, Nov. 21, Dec. 5 (7:30 - 9:00 p.m.)

Winter Session 2012:
Jan. 9, 23, Feb. 6, 20, Mar. 5  (7:30 - 9:00 p.m.)

Spring Session 2012:
Mar. 19, Apr. 2, 16, 30, May 14  (7:30 - 9:00 p.m.)

There will be informal performances scheduled when it is appropriate for the group.

Tuition

$85.00 per quarter for members of the Alaska Flute Studies Center
$100.00 per quarter for non-members
$20.00 per class drop-in fee for visitors to the class

Tuition is payable to the Alaska Flute Studies Center and is non-refundable.

Participants need to bring their flutes, music and a pencil to every rehearsal. All music, black concert folders for rehearsals and performances will be provided. We will focus on learning a substantial amount of repertoire and will be stressing the essentials of performing in an ensemble (intonation, balance, blend and musical expression.)
