Super Flutes!

Flute class for beginners - the better you play, the more fun you’ll have

What do we do in Super Flutes?

Learn the shortcuts for sounding great on flute! We will cover breathing, tone, articulation, and technique plus will rehearse pieces to play. Super Flutes students will learn the fundamentals of flute playing through lively, interactive activities. They will learn the secrets of effective practicing, plus what performance control is all about. The course includes the fundamentals of flute playing and how to prepare for auditions, challenges in band, recitals and ASD Solo and Ensemble. The course is for students grades 6-8. Saturdays 10:30 – 11:30 am            

2011-2012

Session I               October 1 – December 10 (winter break Dec. 17-31)

Session II              January 7 – March 3 (spring break Mar. 10-17)

Session III            March 24 – May 12

Tuition:           $345 for the year (includes membership in the Alaska Flute Studies Center)
                               All tuition is non-refundable.

Location:         Turnagain Arts Building - 4105 Turnagain Blvd, Room 212 (upstairs)

Instructor:       Makala Bascome

Materials:        Solos and studies will be recommended based on the ability level of each participant.
                       Additional material and folders will be provided. Please bring a music stand to class.
